In 2012 Van Hessen appointed Marco Verhagen as Human Resource Director for the Group. It was and still is important at this fast growing company to secure the values, allow employees to keep pace with this growth and flourish talent within the company. Cherishing the existing cultural assets such as master ship, cost and quality awareness and entrepreneurship, Marco makes employees feel comfortable and challenged to perform. His motto is clear: “Follow your passion, than everyone’s dreams can come true in this company. But don’t forget you are responsible.” Marco enjoys working hard at Van Hessen but also cares for his children, sports and his garden.
Marcel van der Toorn
Group Financial Controller Van Hessen Group
As the grandson of a Dutch butcher, Marcel van der Toorn has a natural involvement in the products of Van Hessen. However as the Group Financial Controller, Marcel is not that close to the product. He is leading the finance team since 1996 and is accountable for the solid financial position of the company.
Marcel has managed the growth of the company in a very controlled way where acquisitions, economical crisis, etc. did not impact the financial health of the company at any moment. Marcel and his team carefully monitor the cash position and financial structure of the company on a daily basis and ensure the company can support further growth. Marcel loves travelling, also when not business related, and playing hockey.
