Management takes majority share in Van Hessen GroupOn November 9th 2009 the investment firm Janivo Holding BV has acquired a minority share in our Group. The management has acquired a majority share in the Van Hessen Group. Lex van Hessen will reduce his shareholding and will remain involved in the company.
The changes are part of a long term succession plan which enables younger generation managers to participate in order to secure further development of the Van Hessen Group.This strategy will also be followed by the company in the future.
Janivo is an independent investment firm which invests in both public and private companies.
Van Hessen represented at IFFA 2010Van Hessen will be represented at the IFFA in Frankfurt from May 8th till May 13th 2010. IFFA is the leading international trade fair for processing, packaging and sales in the meat industry. It has been the international platform for the meat-processing industry and the world’s foremost forum for investment decisions since 1949. Thanks to the great depth and breadth of the range of products on show, as well as the exceptionally large number of international exhibitors and visitors, IFFA gives a convincing demonstration of its outstanding position in the sector every three years.
In 2007, 61,478 trade visitors from around 100 countries came to Frankfurt to see the range of products and services offered by 913 exhibitors. The proportion of foreign trade visitors was 46 percent. In other words, almost one in two IFFA visitors came from outside Germany.

Natural Casings and H1N1 14 May 2009The media have reported many stories about this potentially harmful virus which seems to spread quickly around the globe. Unfortunately much of the information is incorrect and causes confusion.
The facts about this virus are the following:
- The influenza virus being discussed is a new strain, which is a mixture of genetic material from avian human and pig influenza viruses.
- Accordingly, the influenza virus is not “hog flu” or “pig flu” it is a new strain.
- The new influenza has so far only been found in humans and not in pigs.
- The new influenza has so far only been found to spread from human to human
